Aubrey's been a bad, bad blogger :(

I've been feeling guilty about not updating my blog lately, and then I felt even worse when I logged on and read Karen's comment on my last post about how I am (generally and sadly) absent from blogging world. I really am sorry... it's not because I don't care! It doesn't seem to matter how good my intentions are at keeping my blog up to date. Other things just get in the way. I've said it before, and I'll say it again-- I'm a crap blogger.

That said, I really will TRY to do better. Really, you should thank me for not posting more often and boring you to tears. My life simply isn't riveting enough to post every day. But I should think I could come up with something maybe once a week. :)

The Barnes and Noble Authorpalooza booksigning was lots of fun. I got to sit and visit with two very cool authors from Cedar Fort-- Frank Cole and Jillayne Clements. The employees at Barnes and Noble were super friendly. AND I got to have my copy of The Hourglass Door signed; two birds, one stone!

Also, I just got my cover for Santa Maybe and it looks great. Kudos to Jen Boss, who designed my cover this time around. Santa Maybe is being printed as we speak, and it should be available from Cedar Fort mid-September-ish. Can't wait to see the finished product!

If you're worried about boring blog entries, here's an idea. You could always do something like "Made Up Monday" where you blog about something that happened to you that is really exciting and intriguing and totally didn't really happen. That would keep you blogging once a week. And it would flex those author muscles.
Today's entry could start with "I hadn't intended to single-handedly save the entire bus full of people, but..."
Imagination, Aubrey. You can do it!

Sorry, didn't mean to put you on a guilt trip. But you're an up and coming writer, anything you post about writing, book deals, signings, and all that would be of interest to other writers.

I might start doing Made Up Monday, Sarah! That sounds like just the sort of thing I could handle. I don't have a life, exactly, but I am quite adept at imagining what my life COULD be like...if I had one. And my author muscles have gotten a bit flabby as of late. Hmmmm. Definitely something to think about.

And Karen, I promise that if I have anything remotely interesting to say, you will be the first to know! :)

Yeah, I'm going with Sarah on this one. (Just started Seeking Persephone last night, btw.) Anyway, do Made Up Monday. Or Freaky Friday, where every blog post starts, "The freakiest thing happened the other day..." and then you can make up whatever comes next. "The Target cashier started doing karaoke into the price scanner while ringing up my clearance tankini" or "I saw a streaker the other day: in SUNDAY SCHOOL." Like that.

Are streakers in Sunday School not a normal thing? Maybe it's just my ward...
